In my scientific work I pay much attention to the former areas and problems:

  • Motion Capture systems, especially, the Video Motion Capture and it's applications
  • Automation of human and animals biomechanics analysis
  • The Global Illumination rendering techinics
  • The development of man-machine interfaces based on Virtual and Augmented Reality and MoCap technologies
  • Simulation of complex multi-object scenes
  • The statistics and efficient ranking of Internet resources

Motion Capture

Since I was a student of St. Petersburg SUAI in the beginning of 2000-s, I was interested in animation of various complex dynamic objects. I've studied several 3D modeling and animation softwares like MAYA and 3DsMax. And it's became clear for me, that it's nearly impossible to make the object's motion to be as realistic, as it is in real life. It doesn't matter if one is really good in animation, he can not make the human model move like a real human without using the Motion Capture.

Time passed and I've realized, that the creation of proper motion model for a coplex object however is not so fantastic. But I've already began studying of MoCap systems and their problems. So now it all resulted but not ended up with a number of publications, grants and awards.

Man-machine interfaces in robotics and medicine

The important role in the development of robotic systems is played by the man-machine interface. The new approach in creation of such interfaces is based on technologies of Video Motion Capture of robots and a Virtual Reality.

Studying antropomorphous robots and their animation is very important for the solution of various problems. Innovative results in this area, based on models and means of a virtual reality, can affect essentially such spheres of human activity, as medicine, sports, systems of remote training, computer and cognitive graphics.

Simulation of multi-object scenes in 3D graphics

The simulation of scenes which contain many objects of the same or similar types is a very improtant field of research. Since 2004 me and my colleagues making a research in the problem of animation of traffic flow on a complex flyovers and road networks.
